Jacobus Henricus van't Hoff, Jr.

Yes. Jacob Henricus, van't Hoff, Jr. Born on 30th August of 1852 as a third born in the family of seven children, van 't Hoff was Dutch physical chemistry who was highly influential on his time when it came to theoretical chemistry. He was awarded as the first Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, his outstanding pioneering work in chemistry helped find the modern theory of chemical thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, chemical kinetics, and chemical affinity.

Hermann Emil Louis Fischer

Born on October of 1852, Hermann Fischer is a German chemist who is well known for his thrilling discovery of the Fischer esterification and Fischer projection. His famous Fischer projection is well known as a symbolic way of drawing the asymmetric carbon atoms.

Hans Fischer

Born on July 1881, Hans Fischer was a German organic chemist who received the Nobel Prize for his researches into what constitutes chlorophyll and haemin.

Carl Bosch

Carl Bosch was born on August of 1874. His contribution as a German chemist and engineer was recognized by the Nobel Foundation as the pioneer of high-pressure industrial chemistry. He was also a founder of IG Farben, a company that at one point became the world's largest chemical company.

Irving Langmuir

Irving Langmuir was born on the January of 1881 in Brooklyn; New York. He was an American Chemist and physicist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in chemistry for his outstanding work in surface chemistry.

Prof. Paul Karrer

Born on April of 1889, Prof. Paul Karrer is a Swiss organic chemist who is best known as Nobel laureate in chemistry for his research on vitamins.

Melvin Ellis Calvin

Melvin Ellis Calvin was born on 8th April 1911. He was an American biochemist who along with James Bassham and Andrew Benson was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery of the Calvin cycle.

Manfred Eigen

Born on May 1927, Manfred Eigen is a German biophysical chemist who was awarded Nobel Prize for his discovery on how to measure fast chemical reactions.

Walter Kohn

He is an Austrian-born American theoretical chemist and theoretical physics who was awarded the Nobel Prize for his works in electronic properties of materials. His work has today led to the development of the density functional theory.

Frances Hamilton Arnold

Our list of the top 10 chemistry Nobel Prize winners in history would not be complete without mentioning Frances Hamilton Arnold. Born in July of 1956, she is the first female American chemical engineer as well as the first female to be accredited a Nobel Prize in Chemistry. In 2018, she became famous for winning the Nobel Prize from Nobel Foundation for his contribution in using the directed evolution to engineer enzymes.
