Learn how to score better

Are you the type that waits till the deadline is up in order to write your homework? Well my friend, you are a victim of procrastination. You don't have to worry, though. We will share a few tips that can help you kick the habit.

1. Select a suitable study environment

Sometimes, your area of study could be what propels you to procrastinate. Find a good location for you that does not offer temptation to engage in other activities. For instance, doing homework on your bed will tempt you to sleep. Doing assignments where your friends are playing will also tempt you to do the same.

2. Arrange assignment tasks in order of importance

All assignments are not the same. Some are complex while others are simple. On the other hand, others are urgent while others have several days before they fail due. You need to organize the tasks such that you complete the urgent and complex tasks before.

3. Create a habit

Almost everything we do is as a result of habit. The best thing you can do in life is develop habits with positive results. One way to do so is to set apart specific times of the day when you complete a given task. Do so consistently without fail and you will create a habit eventually. Initially, it starts out quite hard but as the days go by it becomes much easier. Through a habit, you can kill any procrastination tendencies in class and at home.

4. Break Down tasks into manageable bits

Part of the reason why most people procrastinate is the sheer imagination of how hard the task at hand may be. One way to avoid such thoughts is to actually break down the homework or assignment into small manageable bits. This way the task does not appear scary.
